6A Unit 7 Protect the Earth (Period 1)

教学内容:Story time

 

教学目标:

1、 能听懂、会读、会说protect, earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, coal, wood, cut down, plastic, oil, drive, so much.

2、 能听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语We use … to … We should … We shouldn’t …

3、 通过小组合作交流,能正确地理解并能用标准的语音语调朗读文本,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

4、 让学生了解保护地球的重要性,培养学生热爱地球,保护地球的意识,了解更多保护地球的方法。

 

教学重点和难点:

1、 对词汇和句型的理解。

2、 通过小组合作交流,能正确地理解并朗读文本,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

 

教学过程:

Step I Pre-reading

1. Greeting

T: Hello! Boys and girls! I’m new here and I will teach you English today. You can call me Miss Pan. I want to know something about you.

T: May I know your name? / What’s your hobby?/Do you like drawing?/I think you must be good at imagining.

2. Brain-storm

T: There is a good chance for you to show your imagination. Look here! There will be some shapes. When you see one shape, please say out what you think of. If you take part in this activity, you will get a small present! Look! Reusable bags.

T: (circle) What do you think of when you see circle?

S: Pizza/ball/cake/Earth…

T: What a great imagination! (Teach and read “Earth”)

3. T: Refer to the Earth, I have a question for you. What do you think of the Earth.?

S:…

T: Yes. In our mind, the Earth is big, beautiful and full of natural resource. It’s our ideal home. Its also a good place for birds to live. But something has changed, the birds feel sad. What happened? Let’s have a look!

T: Why does the bird feel sad? The Earth has been destroyed. What should we do? We should protect the Earth. But How to protect the Earth? Well. Lets study Unit 7 Protect the Earth (Story time ) and find the answer.

Step II While-reading

1. Watch and choose

Q: How to protect the Earth? (Learn: save, energy, plastic)

Save water  Save energy   Save trees  Dont use too much plastic

2. Passage 1 (Save water)

(1) Look and say (Why?)

T: Water is useful. We use water to …. (Teach: use…to…)

   There is not much water in many places. (show some pictures)

T: That is why we should save water.

(2) Listen and match (How?)

T: But how to save water. Let’s listen and match.

(Teach: We should… We should not…  reuse and waste)

3. Passage 2 (Save energy)

 Read and underline (Use “~~~~”underline the sentences about why we should save energy and use “_____” underline the sentences about how to save energy.)

(Teach: coal, oil, most of 且补充 “solar energywind energyhydro energy and nuclear energy)

4. Passage 3 (Save trees)

Self-learning

(1) Skim to find the new words and new sentences.

(2) Scan to finish the sentences.

5. Passage 4 (Don’t use too much plastic)

Group-learning

Intensive reading and group-discussion

(1) What do we use plastics to make?

(2) Should we use too much plastic? Why or Why not?

(3) What should we use?

 

6. Read the whole text.
